Benromach distillery presents Benromach 40 Year Old 2022 Batch 2 Release 56.5%, released in 2022. There were 1132 bottles in this release.
This whisky has a unique nose of rich red fruit and fragrant clove emerge with notes of tangerine peel and subtle beeswax polish , complimented by orange oils, spicy black pepper and raspberry compote on the palate, and topped off by a long festive spices finish.

Benromach
The first Benromach distillery was opened in 1898 and situated in Forres, Speyside, Scotland. It began doing single cask malt whiskies in different distilleries in 1915 when everyone else was doing blended whisky. In 1993 the distillery was acquired by the Urquhart family (otherwise known as Gordon & MacPhail) and remains one of 3 distilleries in this family business. The Urquhart’s are keen to revive the lost Speyside style using malted barley which gives a whisper of peat smoke. This process, over a century old, remains from when malting in Speyside would have had fires topped up with peat when coal was running low, providing a distinct character. Every cask is filled by hand and make their whisky by smell, sound and touch. Benromach is open year round for tours and tastings via their visitor centre.
