Tobermory distillery presents Tobermory 2005 Oloroso HF Cask #715 70cl / 57.9%, released in 2022. There were an unknown number of bottles in this release. This whisky has a unique nose of of caramel, toffee and almonds with a hint of nutmeg and cardamom, complimented by notes of walnuts, cherries and creamy toffee, with hints of leather coming from the spanish wood on the palate, and topped off by a a long, dry finish of warm nutmeg and ginger spice, followed by sweet black cherry jam finish.

Tobermory
Tobermory meaning ‘Mary’s Well’ in Gaelic was established in 1798 and is the only Isle of Mull distillery and sits at the centre of the Island community. It is also one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. Financial troubles following the war resulted in a halt in operation for 41 years, after a sale to Burn Stewart Distillers in 1993 the distillery took on a new life. In 2013 Tobermory was sold once again and underwent a hiatus in production to facilitate essential maintenance and renovation, reopening in 2019. The distillery produces two distinct single malts: a non-peated Tobermory and a heavily-peated Ledaig as well as Tobermory gin. The two malts are produced using the same stills, wash backs, mash tuns and the same process water but the two are totally different in character due to the malted barley used. Today it is a thriving, expressive and unique distillery on the Hebridean Island of Mull. The distillery’s visitor centre is open year round for tours and tastings (Tobermory Distillery, 2024)
