Laphroaig distillery presents Signatory Vintage-Laphroaig 25 Year Old 52.2%, released in 2023. There were 196 bottles in this release.
This whisky has a unique nose of sea minerals, citrus, raspberry, creamy brown sugar and old newspaper giving way to acrid salty peat, complimented by oily mouthfeel peppery medicinal liquorice, spices, treacle and dried fruits on the palate, and topped off by a long peaty, iodine herb and spices finish.

Laphroaig
The distillery is situated in the south of Islay (eye -lah) and was established in 1815, by Alexander and Donald Johnston. The Johnston Family ran the distillery 1954, the last of which being the legendary Ian Hunter. Hunter was a visionary , rebuilding parts of the distillery and doubling the output, he also overhauled the malting floor adding large windows and fans to impart the flavours of the sea air. Hunter left the distillery to Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig’s first distillery owner remained on Islay for over forty years. The distillery was sold to Seagar Evans & Co in the 1960’s and has changed hands several times, now being owned by Beam Suntory. Since 1994 Laphroaig, which means ‘beautiful hollow by the broad bay’ in Gaelic, has been the only whisky to carry the Royal Warrant of HRH, Prince Charles of Wales, which was awarded in person during a visit to the distillery. Laphroaig has a visitor centre open year round, with tours and tastings
