Laphroaig’s 18-year-old whisky marks a key moment in the story of Laphroaig. It captures over two centuries of master distillers and blenders who made Laphroaig what it is today.
Matured in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels, this single malt combines the distinctive smoky character of Laphroaig with notes of intense vanilla and sweet ripe fruits, alongside signature notes of woody peat smoke coming through on the finish. The 18-year-old single malt is guaranteed to leave its mark and be memorable.

Laphroaig Distillery
The distillery is situated in the south of Islay (eye -lah) and was established in 1815, by Alexander and Donald Johnston. The Johnston Family ran the distillery 1954, the last of which being the legendary Ian Hunter. Hunter was a visionary , rebuilding parts of the distillery and doubling the output, he also overhauled the malting floor adding large windows and fans to impart the flavours of the sea air.
Hunter left the distillery to Bessie Williamson, Laphroaig’s first distillery owner remained on Islay for over forty years. The distillery was sold to Seagar Evans & Co in the 1960’s and has changed hands several times, now being owned by Beam Suntory. Since 1994 Laphroaig, which means ‘beautiful hollow by the broad bay’ in Gaelic, has been the only whisky to carry the Royal Warrant of HRH, Prince Charles of Wales, which was awarded in person during a visit to the distillery.
Laphroaig has a visitor centre open year round, with tours and tastings.
