Lagavulin distillery presents Lagavulin 10 year old Feis Ile 2024 , released in 2024. There were 1800 bottles in this release.
This whisky has a unique nose of mild, clear and dry overlall, with quite some prickles! slow to rise, the first notes to emerge are maritime, suggesting salt crystals, iodine and dry seaweed. in the background, gentle smoke hints at coal dust and peat ash, joined after a while by a faint carbolic note, complimented by a creamy-smooth , mouth-filing, and suprisingly full-bodied texture bringing forth a sweet initial taste with a mouth-watering appeal, soon becoming lightly salty, with fast-growing, billowing smoke on the palate, and topped off by a medium length, with more smoke and hot white peppery spiciness, finishing dry. it comes lightly saltier with a sash of water, yet the pepper still punches through to finish.

Situated at the picturesque Lagavulin Bay, Port Ellen, Isle of Islay (eye-lah), Lagavulin is world renowned for it’s smoky peaty whiskies. Lagavulin is a spirit which likes to take its time. Nestled on the South of Islay, Scotland’s whisky island, Lagavulin can be found sitting quietly in its small and beautiful bay. Definitively Islay style, Lagavulin embodies the flavours of the island on which it sits with its rich fruit & smooth smoky flavours complimented by a good dose of Islay peat & crisp sea salt. Take a tour of the distillery, see their distillers at work and view the unusual pear shaped stills. Peated malt, slow distillation and long maturation together ensure Lagavulin develops a complex, rich, peaty character.
