It offers a rich, complex profile featuring sweet, nutty notes of Manuka honey and praline, combined with leather, tobacco, and characteristic subtle Islay peat smoke. Drawn from six distinct casks, each selected with intent to create this defining moment of captivation, this spirit pays homage to the meticulous consideration and care for which Bowmore is rightly celebrated. This dynamic single malt grows in momentum, flavour and intensity at every stage.

Bowmore Distillery.
Founded over two centuries ago in 1779, the distillery was the first recorded distillery on the island of Islay (pronounced ‘eye-la’) and is one of the oldest in the whole of Scotland. Islay malts are renowned for their peaty smokiness and Bowmore is no exception. The distillery carefully smokes it’s malt in a peat-fired kiln, just as its ancestors did over 200 years ago. Bowmore was the first planned village in the country, founded in 1768 and the distillery produced its first Islay Malt 11 years later in 1779. You will find the distillery on the shores of Loch Indaal, a sea loch that opens out into the Atlantic Ocean. Its proximity to the sea plays a vital role in shaping the final character of our spirit, which breathes in the salty sea air all the while it’s maturing. The distillery houses a vistor centre and bar and is open for tours year round (Bowmore, 2024)
