Ardbeg distillery presents Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan TB/04 46.2%, released in 2022. There were an unknown number of bottles in this release.
This whisky has a unique nose of faint waves of scented wood smoke, mingle with sea spray and pine resin. wisps of aniseed toffee and sweet lillies follow on the breeze while fresh citrus zest lapse overnotes of cayenne pepper. with a splash of water, waxy notes and charcoal flow into droplet of classic sherry and linseed oil, complimented by a rush of rich sappy textures is followed moments later by a classic sweet smokyness. tarry roped and treacle toffee plunge the palate into a second wave of soot and aniseed twists. smoke bobs on the horizon while smoked brown sugar, walnuts and spices gentle dissove away on the palate, and topped off by a a long, unhurried finish carried bitter almonds and clove finish.

Ardbeg
The distillery can be found in a small cove on the south coast of Islay. It was in 1815 that the distillery was established and founded by John McDougal. Despite going on to sell in 1838, Ardbeg continued to be ran by John’s children. In 1853 Ardbeg boasted the first female distiller’s in Scotland after the death of Alexander, their elder brother. The family also went on to buy back the distillery in 1922 remaining at the helm until 1977. Following financial difficulties the distillery had a hiatus from 1981 to 1989, when distillation resumed it was on a much smaller scale. The distillery was sold again in 1997 to Glenmorangie Co. and restored to its former grandeur and as we know it today. Ardbeg has gone on to win many awards and enjoys releasing bottles to celebrate contemporary events. In 2021 a new stillhouse is completed doubling capacity. They are open year round in their visitor centre, bar and tours (Ardbeg 2023).
