Campbeltown

Campbeltown was once known as “the whisky capital of the world” having at one time over 30 distilleries. Nowadays it is the smallest whisky produced with 3 distilleries although there are 2 new distilleries under construction. The quantity of whisky may have reduced but the quality of the exceptional single malt whiskies produced is heavily demanded by drinkers worldwide.

The 3 distilleries are Springbank, Glengyle and Glen Scotia. Springbank distillery produces Springbank, Hazelburn and Longrow whisky whilst Glengyle produces whisky under the Kilkerran brand, Glen Scotia is the final distillery that complements the other distilleries in the region. All the distilleries benefit from proximity to the city of Glasgow and Northern Ireland.
