The Glenfiddich 13 Year Old (2013 Vintage) released for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is a rare, distillery-exclusive single malt. Matured in a first-fill sherry butt and possessing a very unusual light peat for Glenfiddich, it was bottled at a cask strength of 65.4%abv.
Because of the high proof, adding a few drops of water can help open up the aromas and soften the intense character.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich sherry notes, sweet chocolate, roasted chestnuts, and subtle cold ash from the light peating.
Palate: Unusually lively and sweet. Opens with maple-glazed bacon, black forest ham, and cherries, all wrapped in a blanket of gentle, warming peat smoke.
Finish: Perfectly balanced between sweet and peat with no harsh tannins. Lingers with notes of red berry marmalade, kippers, dried fruits, and wet tobacco

Glenfiddich Distillery.
Glenfiddich is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the Scottish burgh of Dufftown in Moray, Scotland. It is owned by William Grant & Sons. The name Glenfiddich derives from the Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhaich meaning “valley of the deer”, which is reflected in Glenfiddich’s stag logo.
